MY Background
I received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University in 2017. I completed my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Washington in 2022. Now you may be wondering…that's quite the switch. Yes! Yes, it is! For me, I realized that I did not want to be a part of an industry with so many negative impacts to communities globally.
I started my career out in the social service field back in 2014, down in New Orleans. I started off working as a CNA at a group home for folks who had once experienced homelessness and lived with HIV/AIDS. When I moved to Washington, I worked as a behavioral specialist with kids in a school setting, then as a youth counselor and housing navigator with young adults experiencing homelessness. After, I worked as an intake coordinator for a group practice. Post Graduate, I’ve worked in a community mental health setting as a therapist, in an emergency department as a social worker, and at a community college as a therapist. All these experiences shape and inform the work I do in my practice.
My Values
As a black non-binary therapist, I value creating a space to be vulnerable: a space where you are seen as your authentic self, a space to grow and heal on your life journey.
Let me leave you with this: you are the expert of your own life, which I want to honor and respect. I hope to always take a collaborative approach in your healing journey. I am here to support you with your growth. When you step into my space, I want you to understand that you are valued.
